Introducing Clio for DocXpress Document Delivery
Lane Library’s DocXpress Document Delivery Service is implementing a new web-based software platform, Clio, to manage the thousands of journal articles and book requests our DocXpress users submit each year. Clio offers DocXpress users a new way to request journal articles, book chapters, and print books that Lane Library does not own or license.
What’s Different about Clio?
Clio uses single sign-on (SSO), allowing Stanford Medicine users to log in with their SUNet IDs, SIDs, or Network IDs to create their Clio accounts and access their dashboards. It will no longer be necessary to remember login passwords for the old DocXpress accounts!
Important Dates for the Clio Migration
DocXpress services will be interrupted for five days during the cutover to Clio from our old system. Please make note of these important dates.
- July 15: Last day to submit requests in the current system
- July 17:Access to all existing accounts ends at 4:30 PM.
- Download all PDFs before 4:30 PM.
- For urgent patient care emergencies, please email DocXpress directly at docxpress@lists.stanford.edu between July 17 and 21.
- Request histories and PDFs will NOT migrate to Clio.
- July 22: Clio launches at 9:00 AM
What to do after Clio launches?
- Clio goes live at 9:00 AM on July 22, 2026, and DocXpress services resume.
- Stanford Medicine users MUST create new Clio accounts using their Stanford credentials before submitting new article requests.
- A new DocXpress information guide with Clio login Instructions will be available on July 22, 2026, along with a new DocXpress website: https://lane.stanford.edu/docxpress.
