D-CORE Collection

October marks the 6th anniversary of the opening of the Diversity Center of Representation and Empowerment (D-CORE), a space located in Lane Library where any member of the Stanford Medicine community interested in issues of inclusion and diversity can hold meetings or just hang out and study.

The D-CORE collection, established in 2020 by a donation from the ADVANCE Summer Institute, is a collection of 235 fiction and non-fiction books that support the center’s mission. This growing collection now has 100 electronic books and includes books our community has championed during our annual Banned Book Week celebration. We encourage the Stanford Medicine community to recommend resources for this collection by suggesting a purchase or participating in this year’s Banned Book Week celebration. Select a banned book to champion and add to the D-CORE collection before October 7.  For a complete list of the D-CORE collection, search Lane “D-CORE.”
