LGBTQ+ Health Resources @ Lane Library
(LGBTQ) Pride Month is celebrated in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, a milestone event for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. In honor of Pride Month, festivities and other activities occur globally to provide opportunities to reflect, celebrate, and increase awareness.
Lane Library recognizes that LGBTQ+ individuals often face health disparities and has a curated collection of resources focused on LGBTQ+ health for our user community. Our collection includes ebooks, journals, and databases on adult and pediatric LGBTQ+ health, including the Archives of Sexuality & Gender database, which contains a robust and significant collection of primary sources for the historical study of sex, sexuality, and gender. Explore these resources in our Multicultural Health Guide. We welcome suggestions for our collection.
We also invite you to explore the D-CORE’s (Diversity Center of Representation and Empowerment) collection of books celebrating the LGBTQ+ community. The D-CORE is available to LGBTQ+ student, faculty, and staff groups for gatherings, meetings, events, and PRIDE celebrations. Reservations can be made on the D-CORE website.
