March is Women’s History Month

Celebrate Women’s History Month by stopping by Lane’s new exhibit “Adelaide Brown: A Stanford Medicine Pioneer,” located in the exhibit area near the entrance to Lane Library.

The exhibit recounts how this nineteenth-century graduate from Cooper Medical College (the school that later became Stanford Medicine) became an early champion of women’s health care in California.

A collection of Adelaide Brown’s personal papers can be found in the Medical History Center, located in Lane Library.

The Medical History Center also contains many other resources related to the history of women in medicine – both at Stanford and beyond.

To see the Adelaide Brown papers or any of these additional resources, please contact the Historical Curator, Drew Bourn PhD, at dbourn@stanford.edu.
