Explore the BioSci Careers Book Collection
The BioSci Careers Center in the School of Medicine provides programs that help students and trainees explore and prepare for a variety of career paths. In 2017, Lane Medical Library partnered with the BioSci Careers Center to manage a collection of print and digital books that support career path exploration. The Career Center continually updates its collection with new resources for PhD/Master’s students, Postdocs, MDs, and PA students, focusing on several major career sectors to help them leverage their professional training.

The book collection currently includes 313 books. In 2025, the books in the collection were checked out a total of 107 times, with graduate students accounting for the majority of the circulation. The most borrowed title for the year was The Professor Is In: The Essential Guide to Turning Your PhD into a Job
How to Access the BioSci Careers Collection:
- In Person: Visit Lane Library and look for the “BioSci Career Books” sign above the entrance to the Reading Room. The collection is shelved by subject.
- Online: You can access the collection through the Lane Library website. Browse the collection on the BioSci Careers Guide or search for BioSci Careers in Lane Search.
