5 ways to Celebrate Love Data Week 2024
February 12-16, 2024, marks the annual international celebration of Love Data Week!
This year the theme of Love Data Week is “My Kind of Data.” Data is personal. Spend time this week learning about data equity and inclusion, disciplinary communities, and creating a kinder world through data.
If you have not participated previously, now is the time! Let’s help new and seasoned data users find data training and resources to move the needle on issues they care about. It is easy! Here are five simple ways to get involved:
1. Attend an Online Class or Event
At Lane Library we have two data classes during the week. Register to attend either or both!
- Create and Implement Competitive NIH Data Management Plans on 2/13 from 11AM-12PM
- Introduction to Research Data Management on 2/15 from 11AM-12:30PM
You can also explore the Stanford Love Data Week Events calendar for more events. The International Love Data Week website also includes a full calendar of virtual events during the week.
2. Visit the Lane Library Table at the Love Data Week Fair on 2/14
The Love Data Week Fair will take place the afternoon of Valentine’s Day, February 14th from 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM in the Mackenzie Room, Jen-Hsun Huang Engineering Center. Everyone in the Stanford community is welcome to attend to learn, share, and discuss quantitative and qualitative data management, analysis, sharing, privacy, preservation, reuse, delivery, and more!
3. Explore Lane Medical Library’s Data Services
We offer a variety of Data-related services for the Stanford Medicine community. Check out our Data Management & Sharing guide, request a data management plan consultation, and more.
4. Make a Data Deposit in Dryad
The Dryad Digital Repository is a curated resource that makes research data discoverable, reusable, and citable. Dryad provides a home for a wide range of data types and is free to use for all Stanford-affiliated researchers. Upon login, select Stanford from the affiliation drop-down menu to deposit for free.
5. Get Involved with the Love Data Week Online Community
Follow @lovedataweek and #LoveData24 on Twitter and Instagram. Consider posting your love of data by highlighting the impacts of recent local data-driven research, sharing projects or teaching ideas related to data, or promoting your publicly available dataset.
