Histories of Activism and Healthcare- A New Medical History Exhibit

A new history exhibit, “Histories of Activism and Healthcare,” is now on view in Lane Library. It explores the relationship between activism and healthcare with a particular focus on Stanford and Bay Area history. The exhibit includes information about:

  • Grassroots activism in the Bay Area
  • Activism during The Cold War
  • Physicians responses to the threat of nuclear war
  • Stanford physicians for social responsibility
  • Activism today

Through a historical lens, the exhibit prompts you to consider how activism changed the kinds of healthcare you are able to provide or receive. Visit Lane Library to learn more and view the full exhibit.

An online version of the exhibit is also available on the Medical History Center website.

You can further explore the histories of activism and healthcare at the Medical History Center, located in Lane Medical Library.
