About Maurizio:

Serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University in the group of Prof. Erik Ingelsson, Maurizio is using CRISPR/CAS9 libraries to find new genes involved in metabolic diseases. He holds a PhD in Molecular Biology at the Institute of Science and Technology Austria ( with a thesis on the optical screening of orphan G-Protein Coupled Receptors. He has explored the mechanism of radiation absorption for healthy and tumor tissue as Visiting Scientist at the ESRF – European Synchrotron Radiation Facility located in Grenoble, France.
