Color Our Collections Week: February 5th-9th, 2018

Started by The New York Academy of Medicine Library in 2016, Color Our Collections is a weeklong celebration of coloring on social media organized by libraries, archives, and cultural institutions from around the globe. This year nearly 150 institutions from around the world have registered and shared PDF coloring books using images from their collections.

Lane’s coloring book features beautiful woodcuts from botanist John Parkinson‘s 1640 work Theatrum botanicum, one of many fascinating works that can be found in the library’s Medical History Center, and was a collaborative effort among three of our staff members: Drew Bourn, Medical History Center Curator; Jeff Codori, Access Services Specialist; and Nicole Soares, Outreach and Privileges Specialist.

So print a coloring book from the PDF or stop by Lane and pick up a coloring book (or just a sheet or two) and color at home or use some of the library’s colored pencils, and enjoy coloring some images from our collection!

Don’t forget to share your masterpieces with us @LaneLibStanford on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with the hashtag #ColorOurCollections!
